Privacy and age rules for Australian apps

Apps run by APP entities need a clear privacy policy, collection notices at the point data is gathered and consent for sensitive information such as health or biometric data. If the backend or analytics sit overseas, APP 8 applies to that disclosure. Contactless and mobile wallet payments are everyday habits in Australia, so Apple Pay and Google Pay are expected wherever an app takes cards. Health apps and the TGA

Software that diagnoses, monitors or treats a condition can be a medical device regulated by the Therapeutic Goods Administration, and some apps need inclusion in the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods. Others, including many wellness and consumer health apps, are excluded.
